After registration, what to do

Parthenope Casa d’Aste offers a series of collections and auctions according to the four departments of expertise of the experts.

Written and telephone offers

If you are unable to attend the auction, Parthenope Casa D'Aste may compete for the purchase of the lots on your behalf.
To access this completely free service, you must submit the appropriate form found at the end of the catalog or at our offices, attaching a photocopy of an identity document.
The lots will eventually be purchased at the lowest price made possible by the other offers.
In the event of bids of the same amount on the same lot, the bid received first will take precedence.
Parthenope Casa D'Aste also offers its clients the option of being contacted by telephone during the auction to bid on the lots offered. Simply submit a written request, which must be received by 12:00 noon on the day of the sale. This service will be provided subject to availability at the time and in the order in which requests are received. Therefore, we recommend that you submit a bid, as this will allow us to act on your behalf only if we are unable to contact you.

La Parthenope Casa D'Aste acts on behalf of the sellers by virtue of a representative mandate and therefore does not replace third parties in accounting relationships.
Lots sold by VAT subjects will be invoiced by the latter to the buyers.
Our invoice, although it includes the amounts relating to the award and VAT, consists only of the specifically highlighted part.

Right of resale
Legislative Decree no. 118 of 13 February 2006 introduced the right of authors of works and manuscripts, and their heirs, to a compensation on the price of each sale, subsequent to the first, of the original work, the so-called "resale right".
This fee is due if the sale price is not less than €3,000 and is determined as follows:
1. 4% for the portion of the sale price between €3.000 and €50.000;
2. 3% for the portion of the sale price between €50.000,01 and €200.000;
3. 1% for the portion of the sale price between €200.000,01 and €350.000;
4. 0,5% for the portion of the sale price between €350.000,01 and €500.000;
5. 0,25% for the portion of the sale price exceeding €500.000
Parthenope Casa D'Aste is required to pay the “resale right” on behalf of the sellers to the Italian Society of Authors and Publishers (SIAE).
If the lot is subject to the so-called "resale right" pursuant to art. 144 of Law 633/41, the successful bidder undertakes to pay, in addition to the hammer price, auction commissions, and any other applicable expenses, the amount that the Seller would be required to pay pursuant to art. 152 of Law 633/41, which Parthenope Casa D'Aste undertakes to pay to the entity responsible for collection.
Please note that for the export of works over 50 years old, Italian law requires a certificate of free circulation. The waiting time for this documentation is approximately 40 days from the submission of the work and related documents to the Superintendency of Fine Arts.
If the lot is awarded to a foreign buyer, the customer is asked to contact the auction house immediately regarding the purchased work for information on the estimate and for procedures relating to the export and transport of the works to foreign countries.
Failure to issue or delay in issuing the license does not constitute grounds for termination or cancellation of the sale, nor does it justify delay in payment by the buyer.
